Judaroo Pedlar

With having two daughters riding and sharing one pony, it was time to buy my youngest daughter, Jenna her own pony.

Judaroo Pony Stud was having an auction, so we all headed up the hill to the sale to see if there was anything that caught our eye.

It didn’t take long, as we drove up the drive and noticed a gorgeous little grey gelding. It was pretty much love at first sight. Jenna, then only 4 years old, climbed on to the fence to say hello and this gorgeous boy leant in for a kiss and that pretty much sealed the deal.

Now just to bid for him!!

When he came in he had obviously caught the eye of someone else too and a little bidding war began, but finally they realised we weren’t going to give in and the hammer went down.

He was ours. Jenna was quick to give her new boy a cuddle and promptly named him Max.

Once Max was brought home he was sent off to Anna Duffy to be broken in.

In the early days Jenna and Max enjoyed attending pony club, they then began competing at shows in lead rein.

Jenna and Max went on to win Champion Lead Rein Pony of the Year at the 2009 SHC Horse of the Year.

Once Jenna turned 8 Max safely carried her around on their own, but unfortunately kids grow and ponies don’t. So the time had come to find a new home for our beautiful boy.

Rachel Langley takes up the story…..

Dreams do come true………

The time came for when we started looking for that special first pony for Kadance, I put my feelers out to friends to see what was available, A friend of mine – Anna Duffy had mentioned there might be a pony coming up for sale owned by Lisa Hall.

I was quick to stalk Lisa on Facebook, looking at pictures of what could have been the pony Anna was talking about. The pictures showed a little grey pony with a little girl that looked to love him.

I took no hesitation messaging Lisa about her pony, I wanted to make sure I got in before anybody else. Lisa had taken a few days to reply, her response was “ yes we will be selling in the future, just not sure when “. We organised a day for us to come have a look and a ride, we fell in love instantly.

Max came to live with us on the 12th May 2012 the day before Kadances 4th birthday. Max was hidden away until the next day. The moment she saw him she had fallen in love all over again.

Not only did Max come to live with us, so did the famous Red Lead Rein Hat which has been worn from the first to the last show.

Showing started not long after, first show was little britches encouragement day, then one step up to an official hack day.

Then the big shows started, Gosnells Masters 2012 was their first big Grand National Qualifier, there was over 15 ponies in their Leading Rein class, to place in this class was going to be exciting but as we waited for the winners to be called, Kadance said “Mum I think I’ve won, the judge keeps looking at me “ it was so sweet! And she was right, her number got called forward for Champion, after this day Kadance & Max became a very special little team, they claimed,
